<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator of end face combustion type capable of changing the amount of gas generation during gas emission and simplifying the manufacture and the internal structure. <P>SOLUTION: The gas generator 100 is configured so that a gas generating agent 6 to generate gas through combustion and an igniting means to ignite and burn the gas generating agent 6 are installed in a housing having a gas exhaust hole, wherein the gas generating agent is formed in a lump and configured so that its surfaces other than the combustion starting end face to be ignited and burnt by the igniting means are furnished with a combustion restricting means for restricting the combustion of the gas generating agent, and the gas generating agent 6 has such a shape or structure that the combustion area varies at burning. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
