PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain short overhanging of a shaft end of a turbine generator and miniaturization of the turbine generator. SOLUTION: This turbine generator is equipped with a rotor 2 having a field wiring; a coupling 3 formed in one piece with a rotor shaft; an AC exciter for supplying a DC current to the field wiring through a rectification device; and a generator for the AC exciter, whose field magnet source is a permanent magnet, to supply a DC current to the field wiring in the AC exciter through a rectifier to rotate the rotor 1 by one turn with a coupling connection to a steam turbine or a gas turbine as a prime mover. With this constitution, an installation position of the generator for the AC exciter is located nearer to the turbine side than a turbine generator stator. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
