<p>The method involves receiving a block of audio signals, and selecting a short window, if a global-energy-ratio of a subrange or a zero-crossing-ratio of another subrange exceeds respective thresholds and no tonal-attack is detected in a third subrange of the audio signals. A long window is selected, if the ratios are not exceeding the thresholds or a tonal attack that is detected in the third subrange of the audio signal. A fourth subrange of the audio signal, which is common for the three subranges, is coded using the selected window. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining of band status of the coding for advanced audio coding.</p> |
