<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method for metal components and its joining structure capable of reducing thermal distortion and deformation when metal components with different thermal expansion coefficients are friction-point-joined. <P>SOLUTION: When a roof panel 16 is assembled and joined to a vehicle body structure, in a first process, the roof panel 16 is joined to a front header 18 by a plurality of friction point joins 22 in a front end side friction joining region 31, is joined to a rear header 19 by a plurality of friction point joins 27 in a rear end side friction joining region 32, and is joined to side roof rails 17 by a plurality of friction point joins 28 in a left end side friction joining region 30A and a right end side friction joining region 30B. Next, in a second process, a plurality of rivet connections 33 are performed in boundary regions of the friction joining regions 31, 30A, 30B, and a plurality of rivet connections 34, 35 are performed in boundary regions of the friction joining regions 32, 30A, 30B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
