PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal in which constraint on design of a housing is eliminated while preventing an erroneous operation and a scratch of a protected part and furthermore, sufficient strokes are secured when the protected part is an input key. SOLUTION: The portable terminal is characterized in that it is provided with an operation part 104 arranged by being exposed on the surface of the housing 102 and a guard member 202 projected higher than the operation part 104 from the vicinity of the operation part 104, the guard member 202 is projected by being transferred by gravity when attitude of the housing is made so that the operation part 104 comes downward and is stored by being transferred by the gravity when the attitude of the housing is made so that the operation part 104 comes at the side.
