<p>A plastic cover or shoe for a horse's hoof which consists essentially of two plastic of horseshoe profile the lower plate (M) being of a relatively hard, abrasive resisting plastic, e.g. polyurethane, while the upper plate (D) which lies next to the hoof itself is a hard water-impermeable plastic e.g. polyethylene. Advantageously an elastomeric layer e.g. rubber or a suitable plastic is placed between the layers (D) and (M). The plate (M) has a grooved flange (Mo) (Ms) into which the rebated edge (Do) of the upper plate (D) is sprung or cast.</p> |
