PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism capable of easily discriminating data received through a network by deciding whether the data are addressed to an image communication device other than a reception-side image communication device or to the reception-side image communication device. SOLUTION: When the image data are received, comparison is made to determine whether the To address and URI address of SIP (Session Initiation Protcol) information match each other. Consequently, when they match each other, it is decided that the image data are image data of a first kind transmitted while the local device is specified as a destination, but when not, it is decided that the image data are image data of a second kind transferred while the other device is specified as the destination (S701). When it is decided that the image data are the image data of the second kind, the image data are stored in an HDD 110 while being discriminated from the image data of the first kind, and printed together with added image information showing that the image data are the image data of the second kind (S703).
