A broadcasting receiving apparatus and a language setting method thereof are provided to obtain convenience for a user by setting a language of an output voice through a hot key. A broadcasting receiving apparatus includes a tuner(100), a decoder(110), an image signal processor(120), a voice signal processor(130), a display unit(140), a speaker(150), a broadcasting information processor(160), an operation receiving unit(170), a controller(180), and a storage unit(190). The voice signal processor processes a voice signal received from a broadcasting station. The controller controls the voice signal processor to output a selected language according to a language selection command input through a hot key of a remote controller. The storage unit stores languages selected according to the language selection command. When the language selection command is not received, the controller sets one of voice information or default voice information corresponding to the language set command according to input of a user's language set command. The image signal processor receives an image signal of which compression is released from the decode, and processes the image signal to be displayed on the display unit.
