PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilation device capable of moving a blade toward an opening releasing position without disposing a weight on the blade, moving the blade to open and close the opening by small force based on the air current when the blade is located at the opening releasing position or its neighborhood, and not moving the blade to close the opening by the force based on the air current when the blade is located near an opening closing position, thus the ventilation can be properly performed by the opening and closing movement based on the air current, of the blade located at the opening releasing position or its neighborhood, and further the device itself can be compacted. SOLUTION: This ventilation device 1 comprises a frame body 2 mounted on a building, the blade 4 disposed on the opening 3 defined by the frame body 2 and opening and closing the opening 3, and an opening and closing means 5 for allowing the blade 4 to open and close the opening 3 on the basis of the air current. The opening 3 is opened by the opening releasing movement of the blade 4 toward the outside 7 of the building, and closed by the opening closing movement of the blade 4 toward the inside 8 of the building.
