A door opening and closing apparatus for a vehicle painting system is provided to easily open and close the door by easily understanding an accurate location of a door, and allowing the apparatus to be stably combined with the door. A door opening and closing apparatus for a vehicle painting system comprises: a door opening and closing robot(10) which generates an electrical signal when the robot reaches within a predetermined range from a door of a vehicle, and which is combined with the door of the vehicle to open or close the door; and a control panel which senses the location of the door from the electrical signal generated from the door opening and closing robot, and which controls drive of the door opening and closing robot according to the sensed location of the door.
