PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an update state of linked content even if the link destination content does not return the latest update date and time. SOLUTION: When access is made to a Web server, the content capacity acquiring means 322 of the Web server accesses the linked content in the Web server content and acquires the content capacity of the linked content. A content capacity comparing means 332 extracts the content capacity recorded during previous access from a database 34 and compares the content capacity thus extracted with the acquired content capacity. A latest update date and time setting means 333 sets a system date and time as the latest update date and time, if the content capacity is determined to be different, and sets the date and time recorded in the database 34 as the latest update date and time if determined to be identical.
