<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device using the output of three detectors such as a GPS signal, and having a vehicle side unit disposed on the vehicle side and a detachable unit disposed detachably from the vehicle, wherein flexibility of use of the detectors is improved when locating a position. <P>SOLUTION: This navigation device having a base unit fixable to a vehicle and a front panel unit which is attachable to and detachable from it and a microcomputer includes a receiver to receive the GPS signal, a wheel speed sensor for detecting the rotational speed of the wheel of the vehicle, and at least three sensors (detectors) comprising gyro sensors for detecting angular velocity around the vertical axis of the vehicle, and the microcomputer of the front panel unit determines the sensor to be used for locating the position of the vehicle in accordance with the output conditions of the sensors (from S1 to S18). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
