PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for remotely changing operation characteristics of a communication device. SOLUTION: The method is for remotely changing the operation characteristics of the communication device selected for transmitting a signal of an incoming message or call to a user. In order to allow to transmit an urgent incoming message or call by the signal to the user even when a called device is in a mute state, the method includes a step of transmitting control data from a calling device (MS1) to the called device (MS2), a step of changing an operating characteristic group of the called device (MS2) in accordance with transmission control data, and a step of transmitting the signal of the incoming message or calling in accordance with the operating characteristics set in the above step.
