WDM/TDM HYBRID OPTICAL NETWORKS

A WDM/TDM hybrid optical network is provided to lower construction costs and management costs by increasing the transmission bandwidth per an optical fiber. A WDM/TDM hybrid optical network device comprises the followings: the M number of the first WDM optical transceivers including a WDM light source; an OLT including the first WDM wavelength splitting coupler which wavelength-couples the M number of downlink WDM discrete wavelength optical signals to generate downlink WDM optical signals; a WDM-TDM conversion device for changing the downlink WDM optical signals to the M number of downlink TDM optical signals; and an optical splitter(RN) which power-splits the downlink TDM optical signal into the N number of optical signals, and power-couples the uplink optical signals.
