PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an operation for executing an operation involved in access to an external storage device intuitively simple and to prevent the external storage device from being removed during accessing, in an electronic appliance provided with a connection part for connecting the external storage device. SOLUTION: An operation device 10 provided near an operation panel part of the electronic appliance is provided with: a moving means comprising a base 12 for mounting a female connector 11 being a connection part to which the external storage device is connected and a guide member 13 for guiding the movement of the base 12; an operation detecting means 21 for detecting an operation to the external storage device; and a locking means comprising a locking pawl 15 having a projecting part 15a engageable with a notch provided in the external storage device at a tip part and attached to the base 12 by an elastic member and a solenoid 22 for driving the locking pawl 15. When the operation detecting means 21 detects an operation, access to the external storage device is made possible, and the locking pawl 15 is simultaneously driven to lock the external storage device.
