1307393 Electrolyte for primary cell UNION CARBIDE CORP 20 Feb 1970 [20 Feb 1969 9 Feb 1970] 8308/70 Heading H1B An aqueous electrolyte comprising NH 4 - Cl and ZnCl 2 for a primary galvanic cell, of the LeclanchÚ type is made into a viscous tacky paste by incorporating therein 2À5 to 6% solids by weight of the solution of a non-crosslinked linear polyacrylamide. Up to 0À6% by weight of mercuric chloride may be present. The polyacrylamide may be added to the aqueous electrolyte pre-polymerized or the acrylamide monomer may be added and then polymerized in situ.
