PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image shake detector capable of preventing the erroneous detection of a motion vector indicating an image shake in each search area to be used in moving image shake correction even when images within a screen are constituted of a regular pattern. SOLUTION: The moving image shake detector for detecting the motion vector of the entire screen indicating the shake amount of the image on the basis of moving image data successively inputted for each frame is provided with a horizontal direction reliability decision part 115 for deciding the reliability of a horizontal direction motion vector for each search area on the basis of the continuity of horizontal direction shift amounts to the high-order third one of pixel value correlation, and a vertical direction reliability decision part 125 for deciding the reliability of a vertical direction motion vector for each search area on the basis of the continuity of vertical direction shift amounts to the high-order third one of the pixel value correlation.
