<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a discharge lamp lighting device in which start-up characteristics of a high pressure discharge lamp are improved. <P>SOLUTION: A DC voltage input from a power supply 11 is stepped down by a DC/DC converter 12, and supplied to the DC/AC inverter 15. At the inverter 15, an input DC electric power is converted into AC electric power, a high voltage is generated in a lamp start circuit 16, and supplied to the high pressure discharge lamp 17 to turn on the high pressure discharge lamp 17. A control circuit 18 makes output pulses d to drive the converter 12 be output from a PWM control part 19, and makes driving pulse signals g be output to a full bridge driver 20 in order to alternately turn on-off switch elements SW1, SW2, SW3, and SW4 of the inverter 15. These driving pulse signals g are made to be driven after 1-30 milliseconds when a sufficient output is obtained from the DC/DC converter 12 by the output pulse d which drives the DC/DC converter 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
