PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new class compound which is an interleukin-1βconverting enzyme inhibitor. SOLUTION: An ICE (interleukin-1βconverting enzyme) inhibitor characterized by a specific structure and pharmacological characteristics is provided. A pharmaceutical composition containing the compound is also provided. The compound and the pharmaceutical composition are sufficiently suitable for inhibiting the ICE activity, and as a result, can advantageously be used as medicines for interleukin-1-mediated diseases (including inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases and nerve denaturating diseases). A method for inhibiting ICE activities and a method for treating interleukin-1-mediated diseases using the compound and the composition are also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
