The system (1) has a tracking unit including an image recording and image signal processing system. A programmable computer platform (3) e.g. computer system, integrated with the tracking unit includes a part of a medical navigation unit. The image recording and image signal processing system and the programmable computer platform are formed as a single assembly. The tracking unit and the programmable computer platform are arranged in a common casing. A multi-purpose broadband interface (10) is provided for data transfer with instruments or for devices utilized during navigation. |
