PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring digital recorder provided with a means by which even a user who is not experienced in the operation of the monitoring digital recorder can easily obtain videos of a specified range (a date, a channel, etc.) from videos stored in the monitoring digital recorder. SOLUTION: The digital recorder provided with a storage means for storing the videos is further provided with an interface 109 for transmitting/receiving signals to/from a removable medium, and a control means 150 for reading a file for indicating a video range stored in the removable medium through the interface 109, retrieving desired videos from the videos stored in the storage means on the basis of the contents of the read file and executing processing for writing the desired videos in the removable medium.
