PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely store significant event information in repair and maintenance or the like without using any nonvolatile memory whose capacity is large. SOLUTION: A history recording unit 20 records event information indicating the operation content of a user or the operating circumstances of a system for a recording device 1, in a nonvolatile memory 23. The history recording unit 20 classifies the event information output from the recording device 1 into significant event information and normal event information based on a reference table T2. Also, the history recording unit 20 records the classified significant information in a uni-directional write-region 23a whose overwriting is inhibited, and records the normal event in a ring buffer region 23b whose overwriting is not inhibited.
