<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a record reading unit simplifying setting operations of setting conditions for dubbing and video recording, so as to remarkably reduce labor to set the setting conditions. <P>SOLUTION: On a TV 300, a controller 2 performs OSD display of a function screen shown in Fig. 5. By looking at the function screen, a user inputs a numeral string corresponding to a desired setting condition through the operation of a plurality of numeric keys 205. When the numeral string is inputted, the controller 2 decides whether a setting condition corresponding to the numeral string exists in a setting table 111A. When the setting condition corresponding to the input numeral string exists in the setting table 111A, the controller 2 executes dubbing processing according to one setting condition corresponding to the numeral string among the plurality of setting conditions in the setting table 111A.
