FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention concerns biochemistry and medicine area. Application of gamma-conglutine of lupine or the proteins possessing more than 50% homology with gamma-conglutine of lupine, chosen from BG7S of soya or EDGP of carrot is declared, for preparation of a medicinal preparation, alimentary additives or a foodstuff for treatment of diabetes of the II type, and also for preparation of the pharmaceutical or alimentary compositions containing gamma-conglutine of lupine, to an admixture of lupine proteins or an extract containing gamma-conglutine of lupine, and application of gamma-conglutine of lupine as an agent, decreasing amount of sugar.
