PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having an excellent efficacy for controlling harmful arthropods. SOLUTION: A hydrazide compound represented by formula (1) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>and R<SP>7</SP>each represents a hydrogen atom or the like; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>bind to each other at the terminals thereof to form a 5- to 8-membered ring in combination with two nitrogen atoms; R<SP>4</SP>represents a halogen atom or the like; J represents a 1-(3-chloro-2-pyridyl)-3-bromo-1H-pyrazol-5-yl group or the like; and M represents a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group that may be substituted with a halogen atom, or the like] is disclosed.
