[PROBLEMS] To provide a half-duplex communication system that allows a user terminal to confirm past communication contents even during a series of half-duplex communications. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is included a communication record database in which all of the communication contents of half-duplex communications are recorded together with their associated identifiers. A half-duplex communication apparatus for controlling half-duplex communications includes a communication record control apparatus that receives communication contents, transmits the communication contents and their associated identifiers to the communication record database for recording them therein, and reads the communication records therefrom. The half-duplex communication apparatus is responsive to a communication record read request from a user terminal to switch itself to the transmission of the communication contents to the user terminal and read the communication records.
