<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely suppress defective formation of an image caused by old toner's remaining inside a developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a toner storing part 66 in which toner is stored and which can be changed, and a developing means 61 inside which the toner supplied from the toner storing part 66 is temporarily accumulated and which develops a toner image on a toner image carrying means 62 with the accumulated toner. Fogging density on the toner image carrying means 62 is detected. When the fogging density exceeds a predetermined threshold, at least a part of the toner accumulated in the developing means 61 is discharged and discarded from the developing means 61. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
