<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining deodorization effects for a long time while achieving power saving and cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: a casing 10 having an exhaust port 12; a fixing device disposed in the casing 10 and used to fix an unfixed image to a recording medium by heating the recording medium holding the unfixed image thereon; a duct 13 disposed between the exhaust port 12 and fixing device and used to guide a gas containing a stinking component produced during fixing in the fixing device; absorbing member 72 disposed in a certain place in the duct 13 and used to absorb the stinking component; an absorbing member heater 71 for separating the stinking component from the absorbing member 72, thereby recovering the absorbing capability of the absorbing member 72; and a deactivating means 80 for deactivating the stinking component separated from the absorbing member 72. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
