PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a low-priced vehicular occupant crash protection device restricted in wrong operation. SOLUTION: In this vehicular occupant crash protection device for reducing damage to the neck of an occupant by moving a head rest forward in the vehicle so as to narrow a space between the head of the occupant and the head rest, a head rest target position computing means is provided to lead out an approximation formula showing a relation between the absolute position of the head and acceleration based on distribution characteristics of the absolute position of the head and acceleration and to compute the absolute position of the head in predetermined acceleration as a head rest target position.
