The alternating current (AC) power supply has a direct current (DC) power source (10) for supply of DC power. A DC or AC converter (20) is provided for converting a DC power into an AC power. The output current of the DC or AC converter is detected by the output current detector (50). The output current is returned back to the output current controlling device (60), in order to adjust the output current of the DC or AC converter, if the output current controlling device deactivates the DC or AC converter, in order to block the output power for some time. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling the output current of the AC power supply.
