The device has a transportation section (101a) for supplying printed circuit boards (102) to an assembling region and for discharging the printed circuit boards from the assembling region. A sensor i.e. optical sensor, is provided for detecting the printed circuit boards transported by using the transportation section. A drive is arranged in such a manner that the sensor is adjusted relative to a transportation direction of the transportation section below a fixed predetermined angle. A driver system is coupled with the drive for adjusting guide elements arranged on the transportation section. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for assembling printed circuit boards, comprising electronic elements (2) a method for transporting printed circuit boards.
