<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus 100 suppressing amplitude of an intermediate transfer belt 51 without greatly increasing an average tension state of the intermediate transfer belt 51 even when the distance is small between the intermediate transfer belt 51 and photoreceptor drums 1a, 1b and 1c. <P>SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer belt 51 is separated from the photoreceptor drums 1a, 1b and 1c by rotating a frame 66 by rotating a cam 65. The tension of the intermediate transfer belt 51 is increased by rotating a cam 90 and pushing out a tension roller 55. Tension of the intermediate transfer belt 51 is set higher in a black monochrome mode in which the photoreceptor drums 1a, 1b and 1c are separated from the intermediate transfer belt 51 than in a full color mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
