PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the entry of foreign matters into a dust cover by placing an abutting face at a higher position to avoid the event that water residing on a lower seat is sucked. SOLUTION: A shock absorber 15 has a cylindrical outer shell 12, and a piston rod 14 provided movably forward or backward relative to the outer shell 12. A coil spring 16 is arranged in the state of being isolated from the outer peripheral face of the shock absorber 15, and supported at its upper end on an upper seat 22 of the piston rod 14 and at its lower end on the dished lower seat 24 of the outer shell 12. The dust cover 20 is supported at its upper end on the side of the piston rod 14 and arranged between the shock absorber 15 and the coil spring 16. A receiving seat 30 has the abutting face 30a for abutting on a lower end 20c of the dust cover 20 when the shock absorber 15 is contracted.
