<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect short-circuit abnormality in the switching element 7 of an inverter 5 in a power conversion apparatus 20. <P>SOLUTION: In the power conversion apparatus 20, a shunt conductor 23 is connected in parallel to a part between a smoothing capacitor and the switching element in an anode-side main conductor 11 connecting a rectifier 3, smoothing capacitors 4a and 4b and respective anode terminals of the respective switching elements 7 of an anode-side of the inverter 5, or a cathode side main conductor 12 connecting the rectifier, the smoothing capacitors and cathode terminals of the switching elements of a cathode side of the inverter. Shunt current flowing to the shunt conductor 23 is detected by an amperemeter 24. When the detected shunt current exceeds an upper limit value which is previously decided in an abnormality detecting circuit 25, it determines that short-circuit abnormality occurs in the switching element 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
