PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a defect in an image such as a density variation among head units 19. SOLUTION: An ejection amount of ink of each head unit 19 is calculated from image data, and then a fluid channel resistance necessary for each head unit 19 is calculated from the ejection amount of the ink. A fluid channel resistance varying mechanism 52 of each head unit 19 is operated according to the above calculated fluid channel resistance to control the fluid channel resistance of a discrete supply channel 48 of each head unit 19. As a result, pressure losses among the head units 19 can be made uniform so that it is possible to suppress a defect in an image such as a density variation among the head units 19.
