PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or reduce the warpage of a glass plate resulting from the heat-receiving amount of the undersurface of the glass plate carried in a heating furnace larger than that of the top surface thereof, and also to prevent or reduce unstable behavior of the glass plate resulting from the distribution of the heat amount received from a roller in its axial direction. SOLUTION: The method of heating and conveying a glass plate G includes the processes of: conveying the glass plate G by a plurality of rollers 20 set in a heating furnace 10; and heating the plate G on the way to conveying by a heating means 40 provided in the furnace 10. The method is characterized by including a roller temperature control process for controlling the temperature of the rollers 20 to a desired level by jetting the hot air having a temperature lower than that of the atmosphere in the furnace 10 to the area which at least the glass plate G contacts in the axial direction of the rollers 20.
