PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display for improving detection precision of illumination light by a detection means by uniformly transmitting and illuminating a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: An illumination means 19 includes a first light emitting element 20 for emitting a first light L1 having a first color, and a second light emitting element 21 for emitting a second light L2 having a second color, and illuminates a liquid crystal display panel 18 with the illumination light L3 including the first light L1 and the second light L2. A reflection means 27 reflects a part L4 of the illumination light L3. The detection means 28 detects chromaticity of the part L4 of the illumination light L3 reflected on the reflection means 27 to output chromaticity data. A control means 56 regulates electric power supplied to at least one of the light emitting element 20 and the second light emitting element 21 based on the chromaticity data. The reflection means 27 comprises a light guide member having a reflection face 27a reflecting the illumination light L3, and the reflection face 27a has an optical diffusion function.
