PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "navigation device and point information presenting method" for presenting information about a point around a current position without falling into a rut. SOLUTION: A topic record A where October 26, 1998 is registered as a topic date and a topic record B where November 18, 1934 is registered as a topic date are stored in point topic data corresponding to the point 500. In this case, when a vehicle travels on October 26, 2006 near the point 500, the content of the topic record A where topic date having the same date as today is registered is displayed (a1) in a topic display box 600 arranged on a guide image in the form of a dialog balloon from the point 500.
