<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel concentration detecting method for a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) which contributes to the down-sizing of a DMFC system, and the DMFC system using the fuel concentration detecting method for the DMFC. <P>SOLUTION: A stationary period output voltage in the state that a current flows to an electric load connected to the fuel cell, and a no-load voltage at a time after a certain elapsed time from a time when the current flowing from the fuel cell to the electric load is decreased to nearly zero, are measured. The methanol concentration of the fuel supplied to the DMFC is determined from the stationary period output voltage and the no-load voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
