摘要 An MPEG2/H.264 high speed digital video transcoding system and a method thereof are provided to simplify a structure and to reduce complexity of calculation by reusing information of a DCT area extracted during a decoding procedure without IDCT conversion. An MPEG2/H.264 high speed digital video transcoding system includes an MC-DCT unit(110), a down-scaling unit, a prediction mode determining unit(130), and an infra frame prediction unit(140). The MC-DCT unit calculates a 8x8 DCT current block to a 8x8 DCT sort block which a motion vector indicates to perform a motion compensation. The down-scaling unit converts and down-scales the 8x8 DCT sort block into a 4x4 DCT block by matrix calculation on a DCT domain. The prediction mode determining unit calculates angle information indicating a ratio of vertical and horizontal components of the 4x4 DCT block by tangent calculation and determines one of nine kinds of prediction modes regarding the 4x4 DCT block by using the angle information. The infra frame prediction unit predicts an infra frame by using the determined prediction mode and a neighbor 4x4 DCT block adjacent to the 4x4 DCT block.
