A torque on demand device of a four wheel drive vehicle is provided to reduce the number of parts by causing a ball disc to be part of a ball ramp with a pressure plate and to be part of a pilot clutch with a magnetic housing. A torque on demand device of a four wheel drive vehicle comprises an input shaft(1), an output member, a clutch drum, a multiple disc clutch(5), a pressure plate, a magnetic housing, an electromagnet(11), a ball disc(13), a pilot clutch(15), and an operation plate. The input shaft receives torque. The output member is rotative with regard to the input shaft. The clutch drum connects with the output member. The multiple disc clutch is disposed between the clutch drum and the multiple disc clutch. The pressure plate presses the multiple disc clutch. The magnetic housing is installed in the input shaft. The electromagnet is covered with the magnetic housing. The ball disc is located between the magnetic housing and the pressure plate and forms a ball ramp by having a ball in between the pressure plate. The pilot clutch is disposed between the ball disk and the magnetic housing. The operation plate presses the pilot clutch through magnetic force of the electromagnet.
