PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit capable of performing output control, corresponding to a control signal from the outside, as necessary, by a simple and inexpensive structure, without causing increase in the cost and in the size of the power supply unit. SOLUTION: The power supply unit is constituted of a DC/DC converter, which adjusts the output voltage at each frequency, based on the control of a control unit 30 and is provided with a discharge circuit H, which is conducted in lowering the output voltage, based on a setting signal from the control unit 30. The discharge circuit H is constituted of a CR discharge circuit, comprising a switching element Q01, whose conduction or non-conduction is controlled, corresponding to a setting signal DCHRG and a resistor 03 and a capacitor C01, which charge residual charges generated in the output capacitor C002 of the DC/DC converter, at conducting of the switching element Q01 and discharge the residual charges upon non-conducting of the switching element Q01.
