PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of being incapable of definitely grasping a segment between images and the meaning of the segment, when a large amount of images are displayed by means of list display, index printing, slide show, and the like. SOLUTION: The photography information of a series of photographed images is obtained, and based on the obtained photography information, it is decided whether a segment (such as, the differences in the photographed date), satisfying a predetermined condition exists between the series of photographed images. If there is a segment satisfying the predetermined condition, a segment image, displayed to visually grasp the predetermined condition of the segment, is generated between the photographed images to be segmented. According to this, it becomes possible to intuitively grasp the segment between the images and the meaning of the segment, particularly when displaying the list and printing the index to the large amount of images.
