PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose a footrest low near the feet of a sitting person when using the footrest, retract it into a high position in a space under a seat board in non-use, and compatibly attain the height of a seat optimal for a chair while retaining the relationship between the optimal seat height and the footrest height as a wheelchair. SOLUTION: This wheelchair includes stretchable supporting arms 3 of a telescopic structure to be disposed diagonally relative to a frame 10 for supporting the seat board and lowering toward the ends, and the footrest 14 attached to the ends of the supporting arms 3, wherein when the supporting arms 3 are slid forward, the footrest 14 is pulled out forward from the seat while being lowered diagonally from the space under the seat.
