<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air puff device for a non-contact tonometer which can shorten a period of time when a subsequent measurement work is started with a simple configuration, and prevent the mist of atomized tears, etc., from being captured into a compression chamber through a nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: The air puff device 2 for the non-contact tonometer compresses the air of the compression chamber 6 inside a cylinder with the use of a piston 5 and puffs toward an eye to be examined from the nozzle 12. The piston 5 includes an opening 16 for allowing the compression chamber 6 to communicate with a cylinder atmosphere open chamber 15. The piston 5 includes a valve body 17 which closes the opening 16, based on a pressure difference between the compression chamber 6 and the cylinder atmosphere open chamber 15 when the piston 5 is driven in a direction to compress the air of the compression chamber 6, and opens the opening 16, based on a pressure difference between the compression chamber 6 and the atmosphere open chamber 15 when the piston 5 is driven in a direction opposite to the direction to compress the air of the compression chamber 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
