<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of imparting directivity information to a reference picture and a method of deciding the directivity of the reference picture. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes obtaining first and second motion vectors of other blocks each neighboring a current block at the left position, upper position, or right upper position; and determining first and second motion vectors of the current block using the first and second motion vectors of the other blocks so that first and second predicted motion vectors of the current block have the same direction as that of the first and second motion vectors of the other blocks, where median operation is performed on the first motion vectors of the other blocks and the second motion vectors of the other blocks, and the first and second motion vectors of the current block are determined by adding the difference between the first and second motion vectors to the first and second predicted motion vectors of the current block. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
