<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for filtering a solid foreign substance which has such a structure to make the easy removal of a cylindrical strainer with a filter disc from a tubular body and inhibit the soiling of the surroundings, and besides, eliminate the possibilities of allowing the broken pieces etc. of a sealing O-ring to flow into and to be mixed with a filtered liquid. <P>SOLUTION: This filter for filtering a solid foreign substance 1 comprises a ductwork 10 which enables flowing of a fluid A mixed with a solid matter and a cylindrical filter unit 14 which keeps one end closed and the other end having a collar part 11 located in the outer peripheral edge of an opening part and many holes 13, 13... perforated in the cylindrical wall 12.
