PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for efficiently preventing corrosion of a shutdown boiler in a multi-can type boiler device. SOLUTION: In this multi-can type boiler device comprising a nitrogen-type deoxidation device 3 for removing dissolved oxygen in boiler feed water by bringing the boiler feed water into contact with a nitrogen gas, further comprises a nitrogen gas receiver tank 2 for supplying the nitrogen gas to the nitrogen-type deoxidation device 3, and has a function for sealing a part of the nitrogen gas into a shutdown boiler can from the nitrogen gas receiver tank 2, when a pressure in the shutdown boiler can becomes lower than a prescribed value when the shutdown boiler exists in the multi-can type boiler, thus the inside of the shutdown boiler can be kept at a pressure more than a prescribed pressure value.
