PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic lens molding method which can mold the lens almost free from optical distortion due to residual stress during injection molding and excellent in optical properties efficiently in a short molding cycle time. SOLUTION: In the plastic lens molding method, the plastic lens 35 is molded by a preparation process for preparing a lens preform 15 whose weight is equal to that of the lens 35 of the final dimensions and whose temperature is at least its glass transition temperature and a compression molding process in which the lens preform 15 kept at a temperature of at least the glass transition temperature is compressed by a compression molding mechanism 30 kept at a constant temperature of the glass transition temperature or below to mold the lens.
