PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for transporting a take up reel wound with a dried veneer single board which is obtained by winding a wet single veneer board or a wet single veneer board, followed by drying by a veneer drier. SOLUTION: A take up reel placed on a pair of rails on a stock area of a wound material is force-fed at a rotating speed of an endless belt while the reel shafts of both ends contact with force-feed claws resiliently and derrickingly attached to the endless belt upon rotating of the endless belt. When the take up reel arrives at the edge position of the endless belt, the take up reel is moved to the next starting edge position of the endless belt via a moving means. The take up reel is transported again on the pair of rails by a press feeding claw one by one up to the edge position of the stock area of a wound material (winding back position), or the above process steps are repeated until an outer peripheral part of the take up material on a front position is contacted with a peripheral part of the take up reel, and the take up reel is transported to the winding back position of a veneer single board, and/or stored.
